FIRST DAY AT DESIGN WORKSHOP ZERO TO ONE DESIGNER

FIRST DAY DESIGN WORSHOP

I am a person of expression, so I always try to express my things properly so that people can get the same idea as I do, so designing has always been a fascinating part of life. I tried to learn design in different ways, but neither of them worked. But I also made designs and tried to learn them myself.

Then When I heard about the design community at KUOSC, I thought, Here, I can learn and work. So I joined the team and attended my workshop on April 17th, which was an insightful session by the coordinator, Bibhushan Saakha. I learned about the basics of design. Like I learned about the difference between raster and vector, how can I differentiate them? I learned about typography, like Sans and Sans Serif, and color theory. He also gave some Chrome extensions for fonts, like Font Ninja and Font Joy.

Then we moved to the next session, which was an intermediate concept session in which we learned about GESTALT, which meant figure ground, proximity, symmetry, continuation, closure, common fate, and similarity. These were things that were included in this part. With time, we moved to the next part of the session, which was the rules for designing, which were the Rule of Fate, in which the grids are used in 99%, 20%, 25%, and 14%; other rules are the 60-20-10 rule for color designing; and the other rule is the Rule of Odd, in which odd-numbered groups of elements look better than even-numbered groups. Then we also talked about the golden ratio.

These were some of my highlights from the session.
